Tranquill Gardens

How would you like to BE in your garden?

Everyone needs a place to escape. Somewhere to take a moment of pause, draw in a breath, and let go. A place to be received, again and again. A place to just be OK.

Quiet. Or LOUD!

Thoughtful, or empty.

Somewhere to mend the bond of trust with ourselves. A spot for being with a pet, sharing tea with a friend, or embracing family.

What are your gardens to you?

My gardens provide me with riotous color, pleasing my need for contrast, textures and the unusual. Everyday is something new! Herbs provide a bit of interest for my cooking, and occasional medicinal support. Stepping outside to take a break from the computer and drafting board is my favorite garden pass time. My designer’s mind gets a rest, and my spirit gets a reboot. My brow relaxes, my focus softens and I can drink in the natural world with all my senses.

In your garden, we’ll focus on what you need to return to your heart, to your restful place. We’ll create a sanctuary in harmony with your home, your family and the best qualities of the surrounding site. Nature will take over and do the rest.

Retreat. How does it feel?

To trace the history of a river, or a raindrop, as John Muir would have done, is also to trace the history of the soul, the history of the mind descending and arising in the body. In both we constantly seek and stumble on divinity, which, like the cornice feeding the lake and the spring becoming a waterfall, feeds, spills, falls and feeds itself over and over again.
